Dharā Studio is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, and our marketing, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

Who we are

This website is operated by Indie Wellness Ltd, trading as Dharā Studio ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller for the information described in this policy.

What information we collect‍ ‍

When you join our waitlist, we collect:

• First name and last name

• Email address

• Phone number

• We may also collect:

  • Details you give us when you respond to our adverts or submit a lead or sign-up form on Facebook or Instagram (for example your name, email address and phone number).

  • The messages you exchange with us by email, SMS or WhatsApp, including messages with our automated assistant.

  • Information about how you interact with our website and our adverts, such as pages visited and device and browser details, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies and similar technologies” below).

  • If you pay us through our website or booking platform, payment is handled by our payment provider and we do not see or store your full card details.

We only collect what we need to manage your waitlist registration and, if you choose, keep you updated ahead of launch.

How we use your information

Purpose 1 - Registering and managing your place on the waitlist.
Lawful basis 1 - Legitimate interests and to administer your registration and respond to your enquiry.

Purpose 2 - Sending you updates about our launch and founding member offers, by email and/or text.
Lawful basis 2 - Consent, only if you've ticked the opt-in checkbox when signing up‍. You can choose email, text or both, and we will only use the channels you agree to.

Purpose 3 - Showing you our adverts on Facebook and Instagram, including showing adverts to people who have visited our website, and measuring how well those adverts work.
Lawful basis 3 - Consent, given through our cookie banner. We do not set advertising cookies or tracking pixels until you accept them.

Purpose 4 - Following up with people who have shown interest in the studio, including by automated email, text or WhatsApp messages sent after you opt in, and replying to your enquiries and helping you book a call or class. Some of these messages are written and sent by an automated assistant rather than a person. You can ask to speak to a member of the team at any time.
Lawful basis 4 - Consent, where you have opted in to receive these messages. Where you have simply made an enquiry, our legitimate interests in replying to you.

You can withdraw your consent to marketing at any time — see "Your rights" below. This won't affect your place on the waitlist.

Who we share it with

We use trusted third-party services to run this website and manage the waitlist and carry out our marketing. Your information may be processed by:

• Arketa - the platform we use to manage the waitlist and, once we launch, studio bookings and memberships.

• Squarespace - our website hosting provider.

• Bullet Digital Media Ltd - the marketing agency that runs our Facebook and Instagram advertising and manages our enquiries, follow-up messages and automated assistant on our behalf.

  • The providers Bullet Digital Media uses to deliver emails, text messages and WhatsApp messages and to host its systems.

• Meta (Facebook and Instagram) - which receives information about how you interact with our website and adverts if you accept advertising cookies, and which provides the lead forms you may complete.

• Stripe - our payment provider.

Apart from Meta, which uses information from its own services under its own privacy policy, these providers only process your information on our instructions, to provide their service to us.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.

International transfers

Some of the providers we use are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place in line with UK GDPR, such as the UK-US Data Bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum. You can contact us for more information about these safeguards.

How long we keep it

If you become a Dharā Studio member, your information forms part of your membership record and is retained in line with our standard client data retention practices.

If you don't convert to a member, we'll delete your waitlist details within 12 months of our studio opening.

If your details are held by our marketing agency, we will instruct them to delete or return them when our agreement with them ends, and in line with the same timescales as above. If you withdraw your consent or ask us to stop contacting you, we will update our records and those of our agency so that you are not contacted again.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you

• Correct inaccurate information

• Request deletion of your information

• Restrict or object to how we use it

• Withdraw consent to marketing at any time

• Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you're unhappy with how we've handled your information

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@dharastudio.co.uk. If you contact our agency directly, they will pass your request on to us. You can also opt out of text or email messages at any time by following the instructions in the message or by contacting us.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to help it run properly and to understand how visitors use the site. With your consent, we also use advertising cookies and the Meta Pixel to measure how well our adverts work and to show our adverts to people who have visited our website. Where cookies aren’t strictly necessary, we’ll ask for your consent via a cookie banner before they’re set, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also manage how Meta uses your information through your Facebook and Instagram ad settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example as we introduce new features ahead of and after launch. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version.
